China Committee Co-Chair Bill Spence (4th from right, above)
spoke about Chicago’s leadership in "green" development at
the 2008 Northeast Asia Development Forum, which took place
Oct. 27-28 in Shenyang.
The annual event, which draws officials, businesspeople, and
academics from China, Japan, the Koreas, Russia, and Mongolia,
serves as a platform for development and cooperation among the
nations of Northeast Asia. The theme for 2008 was "District, City,
Enterprise and Government."
Chicago is widely cited as a leader in green development among
U.S. cities. The China Committee is actively involved in private-
government partnerships to apply green technology to brownfield
sites and new developments in the city. For more information, see
the Architecture & Engineering Subcommittee page. « BACK |
