In November 2008, China Committee Co-Chair Bill Spence
(above) and John Thomson, Executive Director of the
Chicago China Development Office, attended the China
International Friendship Cities Conference in Beijing. They
met with the Mayors of Shanghai and Beijing, and accepted
an award naming Chicago as one of Shanghai’s three top
Sister Cities.
