China Committee members, friends, and business associates gathered January 30 to celebrate the Chinese New Year and honor the staff of the Chinese Consulate. More than 200 people attended the event, which was held in Preston Bradley Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center.

The evening featured music by Jeff Chan, Tatsu Aoki, and Jimmy Ellis; a buffet cateted by Friendship Chinese Restaurant; ping pong and games for the children; and a talent show. China Committee Co-Chair Bill Spence introduced the guest of honor, Consul General Ping Huang.

The Committee is looking forward to many similar events to help build relationships between the people of Chicago and the staff of the Chinese Consulate.
