The China Committee of the Chicago Sister Cities International Program held its annual gala on September 6, 2007.

The event, entitled "Swinging Shanghai," was held at Maxim’s: The Nancy Goldberg International Center, 24 E. Goethe St., Chicago. Guests received welcoming remarks from Mayor Richard M. Daley, read by China Committee Co-Chair Bill Spence. Keynote remarks were given by the dinner chair, Lakeside Bank president Ray Spaeth, who also called attention to distinguished guests.

Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Committee’s programs in the coming year.
